Jessica de Santos Nascimento 24 years old Vigario Geral In 2006 she was 17 years old living with her parents and grandfather. Jessica is now an evangelist shes married to Diogo and they have their own house together. She works as a sewing machinist in a clothing factory and has enrolled in nursing school. I asked her about the current issues the 2013 protests have been around bettering public services. She told me The government is spending a lot of money on these things that we dont really need - like all these things for World CupBut not on the schools. Doctors are not getting paid properly and work extremely long hours nurses need 2 or 3 jobs to get a decent life quality. Money is not being invested where it should be Thinking about her future she would love to be able to live somewhere else but she stays in Vigario because of her family. Eventually shed like to live in a more quiet place without the armed gangs a place more quiet to raise her children and not have these armed actors as examples of a life where they wont see these people as role models because that influences a lot of people and their lives.
